I arrived in Chucktown, South Cackalacka (Charleston, South Carolina) at around 4pm today. From what I’ve seen so far of the city, it looks nice and reasonably populated. There are a ton of restaurants and shops over here – this is definitely not a bumblefuck town.
Today is Day 13 of the Master Cleanse. I ate some cashews on the drive up and just finished a spinach and lettuce salad with vegetables drizzled with balsamic vinegar. I then finished a vegetable soup with it. So far, so good. My stomach has seemed to adjust well to the transition from liquids to solids. I may try to get a wrap tomorrow – maybe. Either that or get another salad. As far as dairy, I think my stomach will be able to handle it, but I don’t want to risk it. So, I’m gonna especially try to stay away from cheese for the next day or two.
I’m wondering if the weight I’ve lost will immediately come back. I’ve heard that sometimes when you fast, your body is desperate for calories and fat, so when you do ingest any, your body will absorb as much of that as possible. I’m hoping not. I eat fairly healthy on average and exercise regularly, so hopefully, I can keep the weight off. But, the thing I’ve gotten the most out of the cleanse is the fact that our bodies can survive on such limited nourishment. I am gonna try to also mainly buy natural and organic foods. At the least, I’m gonna try to optimize my diet wherever I can. I may try to cut back on carbs too….but as a vegetarian, that is real hard to do. I mean, if I can’t have carbs, what else can I have? So…we’ll see about that.
I’ve been meaning for the longest to learn how to cook Indian food. I’m gonna try hard to make that happen within the next month. If I can become proficient at cooking Indian food, then that’ll open the hell up out of my cookbook.
Instead of the allotted 2 days to complete this startup, I may only have 1. I was informed today that the were intending on shutting down a boiler tomorrow night. If that is the case, then I would only have tomorrow to install, test, and troubleshoot our controls system. If everything was wired right and everything in my program was done right, then that could be done. But that NEVER happens. There are always missteps and issues. And normally, you need at least 2 days for that. And, if they decide to take the boiler down, it may be for MONTHS. It’s gonna be an interesting day tomorrow. I’m gonna go over the program and some electrical drawings tonight before I head over to the plant tomorrow morning. I want to be ready to troubleshoot as quickly as possible.
My former roommate (Celibate Mike) is celebrating his 25th birthday this coming Friday (10/10). We will be dining at Franco’s on Cheshire Bridge Rd. and probably going to either ESSO or Velvet Room. It should be a good time. I’m wondering whether or not I should drink that night. I think my body should be able to handle it after the cleanse, but I’m probably gonna take it slow on Friday. As far as the food, I’m probably gonna try to split it with someone – i’m anticipating that I probably won’t be able to finish the whole plate (cue the “little bitch” chants).
