I came across an interesting website while I was browsing the internet a minute ago. And since I am such a geek, I had to share this with all you cool cats out there. I came across something called Jott. Basically, Jott is a phone number that you call that will convert any speech to a text message you can send to someone.

So, all you would do is call the Jott number, speak the name of the contact you want to send a message to , and then say the actual message. After that is done, you hang up the phone and within a minute or two (maybe less than that even), your contact will receive your message. While I wouldn’t say it’s quite genius, it’s pretty damn brilliant. I can’t even count how many times I’ve told my roommate that phones should come equipped with some sort of speech to text technology, and lo and behold I stumble across Jott.

All you have to do is go to the Jott and set up an account with them along with a contact list. Once that is done, you are good to go. If you put down email addresses for any particular contact, they will receive your text via their cell phone and they will also receive a link in their email to the actual audio message. This is pretty damn cool.

Most folks will probably consider this process a bit tedious, but it can come in handy at certain moments. I mean, truth be told, it probably is a lot quicker to actually just type the text and send it, but this is a cool alternative to have. This would be extremely useful for someone stuck in rush hour traffic.

At the least, Jott will make sending out drunk messages a whole lot easier – and a whole lot more interesting.

I freakin’ love stuff like this.

  1. im going to agree with you on this one. This is just a bit too much thinking involved. When you think of it- it is DE-EVOLVING. I mean what did the txt message evolve from the pager?
Didnt the two way use to be the SHIT.
and now….we got speech to txt? SMH…o well, progress is progress.

..or im bitter that it wont hit my side of the world yet, but eh…whatever.
