Old Grand Dad and Farkle

Old Grand Dad and Farkle

I just got done playing a game of farkle (I think that’s how you spell it) with a couple of my co-workers at the company’s apartment. We were sipping on some Old Grand Dad Bourbon Whiskey (never heard of it until today) and rolling die. It was fun seeing some of my co-workers loosen up – especially the Son of Sam. This was some good whiskey too – good and strong (57% alcohol). I don’t know where they found it, but it was good stuff. Ahh, the surprises Chester brings…

P.S. this game of farkle is basically a game of dice. You roll 5 die and get points for every 1 and 5 you roll (50 for a 5 and 100 for a 1). You then have an option of rolling the remaining die (the non 1 and 5 die) again to add on to your score. If you don’t roll a 1 or 5 on either of those, you lose your points for that turn. But at any point, you can stop your turn and keep your points – or you can get greedy and keep risking…hey, I know – it sounded like a dumb game to me too before I played, but it’s actually fun and simple…but a name change wouldn’t hurt I guess…farkle? cmon, really? Imagine trying to convince some people to play – “hey guys, I know this cool game, it is so much fun – it’s called…farkle”…..I know, I know, how could anyone NOT be jumping at the chance to play farkle?
