Last Night’s Quest for the 4th Meal

Last Night’s Quest for the 4th Meal

So….last night, I got together with a few friends and headed over to Loca Luna’s grand re-opening/relocation. They relocated from Juniper St to Amsterdam Ave (what a cool ass street name!). Anyways, afterwards, I got back to the crib and quickly realized that I was hungry and needed something in my stomach before I hit the sack. So, I left the crib a little past 1am and headed out to the closest Taco Bell, only to find out they were closed. So, instead of giving up, I went to another one about 5 miles away – only to find out they were closed. So, instead of quitting while I was already embarrassingly behind, I went for another one about 5 miles away – and they were closed too! Man, I normally handle rejection well, but dammit, I was thoroughly disappointed and defeated. I thought about dropping by the Waffle or IHOP and getting something – but my late-night disappointment (a not too unfamiliar feeling) took away all motivation I had in satiating my appetite. I was on the road for almost an hour searching for Taco Bell! I mean, I felt like Harold & Kumar.

I don’t know what is more embarrassing – the fact that I drove around in search of an open Taco Bell for an hour OR the fact that I actually knew where all the Taco Bells were that were within a 10 mile proximity. Either way, I was feening for a bean burrito and tostada like crack.

Doesn’t Taco Bell claim to be open late? I never knew that there were so few Taco Bells that were open past 1am. What is going on? They need to do something about this…Whoever the flip gets elected to office in November needs to put this on their short list of things to do. That, and making a national mandate that all vegetarian food be cheaper than food that contains meat. I mean, honestly, should I have to pay the same amount for a bean chalupa that someone does for a beef chalupa? Really? Why should I have to pay the same amount for a chicken wrap (hold the chicken) as someone who actually gets a chicken wrap with the chicken? Cmon…don’t even get me started on that…
