I mean no offense, but man, what the flip are people thinking??? O.J. was refused service at a Kentucky restaurant this past weekend for…being O.J. Simpson. I mean, damn. Ain’t that bout a bitch?? I thought America was a compassionate, forgiving, and understanding country?? Look, let’s be real here, I think that O.J. probably did do it and beat that rap, but guess what, I have no conclusive evidence or belief that he is a murderer. I mean, I can assume and play the guessing game all I want, but the facts remain that he was proclaimed innocent by OUR justice system. So, to be fair, he should be treated like an innocent man and given access to all amenities and services afforded to all free, law-abiding citizens. So the fact that a man refused service to O.J. surprised me to say the least. I mean, you don’t have to like the guy to serve him – I’m sure O.J. was going to pay for his bill, it wasn’t like he expected the restaurant to foot the bill. What if this starts a somewhat disturbing trend in the US?
Restaurant owners will start refusing service to all customers they do not like or do not agree with. Ex-girlfriends will no longer be allowed in restaurants, crooked family members will be forbidden entrance, and ex-cons will have a ice cube’s chance in hell in being served. The thing that bothers me though is that there hasn’t been a bigger outrage on this issue. It seems as though many people are siding with the restaurant owner. All you ever see on the news is how people have been mistreated and denied basic civil and equal rights in different events that occur across the nation. But when it comes to someone who is as universally hated and vilified as O.J. Simpson, very few come to his defense. Oh, ok, I get it, if people like someone, they can sympathize with them, but if someone they don’t like is put into a similar situation, immediately they are crucified and not given any sympathy. Makes little sense to me. I mean, if O.J. was acting a fool at the restaurant or running his mouth, being obnoxious, or obscene, then I understand the restaurant owner refusing to serve him. But all he did was be O.J. Simpson, and he got rejected like a geek at the Playboy mansion. I’m not sure exactly what kind of food they serve in this restaurant, but I can guarantee you I know what kind of beverages they serve: everything except O.J.
