Many Interests

Boredom is something I seem to try to avoid with each passing minute. I sometimes loathe the monotony of daily life and of a consistent routine. Don’t get me wrong, I like having a set schedule of things to do every week, but I like to throw a curveball into my life every now and then. Like now, I am trying to learn the piano and guitar (both predominately by myself). I don’t know if I will be able to stick it out and actually learn how to play these instruments decently, but those two things are my soup du jour, my flavor of the day. I think I’m going to start taking up some salsa classes again at a local dance studio close to my job. On top of that, I’m trying to set up an ftp server for me and my friends so we can share files over the internet. Lord knows the Hamachi just isn’t cuttin’ it. Another thing that I have long ago realized is that I may not be great at any one singular thing, but I am good at a lot of things. Maybe it is that I get bored too easily or that before I master one thing, my attention gets focused on learning another thing. I don’t know, either way, I really want to eventually be able to play the guitar and piano seamlessly (even half of that would be an overwhelming achievement). What else is there that I want to learn??? Hmmm…..
