The Fox

The Fox

I think that I have finally come to the conclusion that I definitely have a geeky, techie side to me. I LOVE technology. And the best thing about these new advancements is that they are simple and user-friendly to implement. So I’m going to try my best to document any new technological enhancements that I catch wind of. This all brings me to Mozilla Firefox. Most people, people like you maybe??, think that Mozilla Firefox is probably genius, but do you REALLY know how genius it is??? Up until about a week ago, I didn’t know that you could personalize “the fox”. You can add themes (which will change the look of your browser) and then also add extensions (which will add different functionalities to your browser). As far as extensions go, I have added a language translation extension (my favorite so far) which simply is executed by highlighting a word, right-clicking on that word, and then selecting translate “that word”. It will then show you the translation in whatever language you choose. An extension that is beneficial for everyone is a dictionary translation. You simply download it, install it, and then highlight the word and right-click and go to “Define” and it will give you the definition of the word. Please allow me to reiterate that the Fox is genius!!! I also have an extension that lets you view all the tabs you have open in a thumbnail format as a sidebar (see picture below for alternative theme and showcase sidebar).

Just go to and click on add-ons, and it will bring you to a screen which will give you options for extensions and themes. Just go through each one to see what different styles they offer and select some and try them out. You can personalize your firefox exactly the way you want it. I have to tell you that I am surprised that more people do now know about this or more hasn’t been made of this publicly. It is amazing and allows you some amazing flexibility and versatility in how you view the web. It is a fresh approach and perspective to a tool that everyone uses every day. For those that think that they aren’t tech savvy enough, please do one thing for me, shut your mouze (shut your mouth). It is as simple as clicking the mouse a few times and then restarting your Firefox browser to enable the new changes.
