Un Dia Sin Los Immigrantes

Un Dia Sin Los Immigrantes

A day without immigrants? I know I sure as hell can’t imagine that. Since I am the son of immigrants and all, you know there is no way in hell that I would not support my Mexican brethren. I know, I know, all the illegal folks ain’t Mexican, but a real good amount of them are, so much of them are that the US Gov’t wants to barricade a third of the border between the US and Mexico, now ain’t that some shit? There is no way that anyone can tell me that the illegal immigrants here do no benefit society. Ain’t no way an American is willing to do the things that the Mexicans do at the wages that they do them. If the Mexicans weren’t doing it illegally and getting paid such minimal wages, then somebody else would be doing the same job for standard wages. Think about that, rather than having someone getting paid $2/hour to do a job, you’d have to pay someone at least $5.15 / hour, and that is even before the possibility of having to negotiate or deal with a worker’s union. How much money is the US economy saving right there in cheap labor? They can deny the positive effects all the want and choose to focus on the negative consequences of having illegal immigrants here, but they will feel the void left by the absence of the very people they are trying to push out of here. The economic hit will be noticeable and not even a few cold Coronas or Dos Equis will comfort the gov’t or George W. himself from the economical fallout.

There isn’t a damn honest white American that can look me in the eye and tell me that they could live without Mexican food, because as we all know, white folks absolutely love Mexican food. I mean, burritos, margaritas, tacos, and beer? That’s a white man’s best friend right there. If Mexicans want to make a living in these great United States of America, who is anyone to deny them that right? They keep to themselves (except for those few thousand latino gangstas who tend to kill a few folks here and there every now and again, but for the purpose of this argument, we’ll ignore them) and they make an honest living and they disrespect no one. I don’t want to hear anymore complaining about how we are being forced to learn Spanish rather than hispanic people having to learn English. Everybody needs to wake the hell on up, hispanic people are the largest minority in this country, and ain’t no stopping them. I have no problem with having my ATM and phone services given to me in Spanish and English. All we gotta do is push another button or say another word. It just makes those mundane, trivial tasks an infinitesimal bit more difficult. And I know that we as a society haven’t gotten to the point where we are so lazy that we are complaining about pressing another button. Let’s leave my Mexican brethren alone. It isn’t like we don’t have enough land here to supplement the immigrants. Last I checked, Mexicans were helping to build this country with their blood and sweat by constructing homes and highways for us legal folks. I have no problem sharing any piece of my pie with them and neither should anyone else. Everybody gotta eat, and there isn’t a better buffet line than the United States of America.
